We posted the Los Angeles Show details, along with a bunch of other interesting information. Check it out, tell your friends, and remember to check back later for updates. If you plan to make the trip, please contact us so we can send you the closing newsletter.
Our most heartfelt thank you to all the faithful Bay Area Textile Junkies who shopped with us for so many years! We're glad we were able to make that last trip to San Francisco!
We'll miss all our Bay Area friends, but we won't miss that blustery cold wind off the water. It literally blew us away!
Yes, everything has taken longer than expected, but as you can clearly see, we are serious about retiring. The light at the end of that long retirement tunnel is finally glowing like the Maui Sunshine!
Just a few other notes & comments-
WHY ALL SERIOUS TEXTILE JUNKIES SHOULD STAY ON OUR MAILING LIST:
My retirement plan is to create, paint, dye & embellish with kimono & obi textiles, beads & polymers in my Maui studio. Being quite eclectic, my taste ranges from the incredibly sublime to the kooky and rare. I know I have more than enough kimono & obi textiles in my collection.
Although I am very clear that I do not enjoy mass production, I am not yet sure what kinds of art I want to create. Is it art that takes two days to create, or a month to create? If in the future, I decide that I will be designing mostly jewelry or extremely detailed textile pieces, then I should sell part of my kimono/obi collection. But how to do this? It could even be an informal get-together at a house, and would not be a Texuba event. This could happen two or ten years from now, who knows?
But how to keep in touch? Unfortunately, most people do not keep their email addresses for a long time. Even a group of good snail mails will be very helpful for future communication. For this reason, ALL SERIOUS TEXTILE JUNKIES SHOULD STAY ON OUR LIST, & SEND IN ADDRESS UPDATES. Long-time customers who joined our list back in the stone ages when there was no email should send us their email info. If you would like to give us your phone #'s, we will keep them on file, too. Texuba will not share your information.
IMPORTANT - ABOUT THE
GREEN MAILING LIST FORM:
We are formulating our CORE CUSTOMER LIST, based on the green forms dropped in the box at the most recent Texuba events.
Signing our green Mailing List form at a previous show identified you as a CUSTOMER.
Signing our green sheet or dropping your mailer in our box at every show you attend identifies you as a REPEAT CUSTOMER & gives you the top priority for future notices.
Signing up ONLY on our website identifies you as an INQUIRY.
There is a difference, as our customers discovered last year.
Many thanks to all the folks who diligently give us their USMail and email address changes. Please continue to do - you can note changes on the website CONTACT page. We will do our best to provide future Maui contact information.
Note that the company is retiring, it has not been sold. As Owner, I retain full rights to the Texuba name & mystique.

We will have our super-sturdy "Z-Racks" available for purchase at the shows. Great rack, great deal, and they disassemble for easy transport in almost any vehicle.
Also, our warehouse shelves came from a Home Depot- same massive 10 ft structures you see in their stores holding all their inventory. Contact us if you're interested in buying any.
If you are interested in any other equipment or fixtures (Cash registers, etc.,) please let us know. We will be working out the details for sale of many of these items, and we will get back to those who have expressed interest.

Again, THANK YOU to all the faithful Bay Area Textile Junkies who shopped with us for so many years, and made San Francisco
the Obi Capital of Planet Earth!
We are most grateful to Fort Mason for making such a supreme venue available to us. Where else can you put on a textile show next to a panoramic bay view, next to a group of arty businesses, restaurants and galleries?
Yes, it took forever, but it's time to say our last goodbye. It has been grand!
Tactilely yours,
- Ruby
